Burgmann College is located at 52 Daley Road on the Australian National University (ANU) campus. The College overlooks Sullivan's Creek just before it enters Lake Burley Griffin. Burgmann's parkland setting amid mature trees, lawns and gardens make it one of the most attractive places of residence on campus. Few houses in Canberra can match the convenience of on-campus accommodation. It is possible to walk to lectures, tutorials, and laboratory classes within 10 minutes. The time saved from this convenience can be more productively used for study, working, or relaxation purposes.
Aside from the convenience of travel to and from formal classes, on-campus living also provides easier access to lecturers and univesity tutors. This is particularly useful in dealing with difficult topics, subjects, or merely asking questions outside of normal class times.
The ANU provides a number of important services which on-campus accommodation can provide easy access to. Some examples of these services are:
- Academic Skills & Learning Centre
- Library Access
- Health Service (Doctor/GP)
- Counselling Centre
- ANU Chaplaincy
- University Security
Within 5-10 minutes walking distance from the College, you can reach Lake Burley Griffin, the Australian National Botanic Gardens and the National Museum of Australia. This puts college in the middle of a beautiful area of Canberra, with a variety of colours throughout the year.
The ANU campus is bordered by Canberra's CBD, home to the Canberra Centre shopping complex, specialty shops, supermarkets, as well as a variety of clubs, pubs, cafes and restaurants.
On site parking is available (permit required) and the Secure Dickson Parking Station (permit required) is located next to the College. For those who don't have their own vehicle public transport is easily accessible with a bus stop out the front of the College. Route 3 services this bus stop and travels to three major interchanges; Civic, Belconnen and Woden as well as Canberra'a two major hospitals.
