Moving ANZAC Day Service led by residents

Joseph Negrine playing bagpipes at the ANZAC Day ServiceFor this year’s ANZAC Day, a group of 11 undergraduate and postgraduate residents ran a moving commemorative service for residents, staff and alumni, featuring poems, personal reflections, and letters sent home from the battlefield during World War I, as well as a bagpipe performance by current resident Joseph Negrine.

Bruadarach Medal awarded for efforts keeping our community connected

Benjamin Jefferson, Declan Duncan-Keen, Gregory White & Casey WhiteA gift of alumnus Casey White (2010-2013) and his family, the Bruadarach Medal is awarded to a Burgmann resident who has shown exceptional entrepreneurial spirit in providing an educationally beneficial experience outside of the normal student experience of the Burgmann Residents’ Association.

When alumni become staff… introducing Charlie Rozario & Hope Dyson

Two alumni recently returned to Burgmann to join our College staff team: Mr Charlie Rozario (2016-2018) as College Dean, and Ms Hope Dyson (2013-2015) in the newly create role of Advancement Support Officer. Both bring much Burgmann wisdom to their roles, despite being much younger than the College!

Burgmann College and indigo foundation Equality Prizes

Burgmann College and the indigo foundation partnered in 2021 and have established two $1000 prizes to be awarded annually on a continuing basis. The Equality Prize and the Emerging Leader Equality Prize are to be awarded to a resident or alumna/alumnus who have contributed significantly in any way to reducing inequality amongst people in any of its forms.
